IESBVI Welcomes New Teachers for 2018-19 School Year

Welcome Ashley Furhman Dougherty, TVI Keystone AEA

I am originally from Waukon, Iowa.  I recently graduated from Clarke University in Dubuque with my Bachelor of arts in elementary education and a special education endorsement.  I am very passionate about teaching and look forward to my journey as a TVI.

 

Welcome Carrie Spellmeyer, TVI Prairie Lakes AEA

I have taught early childhood special education for the past 12 years.   I attended Iowa State University and the University of Northern Iowa and I love teaching.   I am especially interested in special education law.  I am excited for this new adventure.

 

Welcome Emma Eaton, TVI Heartland AEA

This is the beginning of my seventh year of teaching.  Previously I taught six years as a special education teacher level one and two for Carlisle Community Schools.   I received my Bachelor’s degree from Simpson College and will work on my Masters through the University of Nebraska –Lincoln.   I am very excited for this new journey as a TVI.

I am excited for this new teaching and learning adventure.   I have been a special education teacher and interventionist in Colorado, Missouri and Iowa.   I love my Lord, my family and a good hearty laugh.

 

Welcome Holly Reeves, TVI for 4Plus program - ISD

I’ve taught special education in the public school system in both Iowa and Nebraska for the past 14 years.   My focus has been early childhood; however, I am excited for this new challenge in the 4+ program at the Iowa School for the Deaf.

 

Welcome Rebecca Colagreco, TVI for Green Hills AEA

I am originally from Philadelphia.   I have taught high school Spanish for 24 years and one year as the bilingual special education coordinator.  I received my BA in Spanish from West Chester University, my Masters in education from Newmann University, Widener University ABD and my TVI certification from Kutztown University.

 

Welcome Krista Papish, TVI MBAEA

My name is Krista Papish, and I graduated from Illinois State University in 2004, as a Teacher of the Visually Impaired. I started my teaching career in Galesburg, IL, for Knox Warren Special Education and served as a TVI for 5 years. Since 2014, I have helped IESBVI with temporary positions such as assessments, subbing, and the mentor program. I look forward to this position and having a caseload of students again!
